Nunofyrbeeswax write and play a bunch of pop songs as raw as their hearts in a minimal set up. Their sound has been described as an idiosyncratic blend of garage rock, post punk and “proto-indie” for whatever that means. Their music escapes easy associations, however, they have reminded audiences of bands such as Half Japanese, the Velvet Underground, The Ex, The Fall, Beat Happening, B52s and The Cramps. Nunofyrbeeswax’s Davide and Angela started playing music as a 4-piece band (The Fingers). By the end of this experience, the two wanted to carry on making songs but in a different and fresher approach: by stripping it down to the bare minimum and perhaps forget about music as intended in terms of genres, fashion, life-style or whatever. Nunofyrbeeswax released a 3-song demo in January 2016 and their first full length album On Everything in June 2016 via Black Bug Records/Et Mon Cul C’est du Tofu. They’ve since released their second full length album Stratotoaster in January 2021 with Youth Riot Records in the US, Et Mon Cul C'est Du Tofu/Pied Biche Records in France, Twintoe Records in Germany, and Sociedad Fonográfica Subterránea in Spain.
